Ingredients:
Frosting:
1/3 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
4 cups confectioners (powdered) sugar
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
¼ cup milk, plus additional if needed
1½ teaspoons pure vanilla extract
Directions:
Frosting:
- In a medium bowl, beat the butter until fluffy. Add 2 cups of the powdered sugar and cocoa; beat until smooth. Slowly beat in ¼ cup milk and vanilla. Add the remaining powdered sugar; beat until frosting is smooth and creamy. Add additional milk if necessary to make a good spreading consistency.
- Spread frosting between layers and over top and sides of cake.
