Sweetened Whipped Cream

The perfect topping for so many desserts, from cakes, pies, cheesecake, to a simple bowl of fresh berries. But making the perfect whipped cream with the perfect sweetness can be tricky. This sweetened whipped cream recipe I feel is perfect.

Using a heavy whipping cream will yield the most luscious results, and always use pure vanilla extract over vanilla flavoring.

I have given the option of using either granulated sugar or confectioner’s sugar. Either way the results are delicious.
Recipe type: Dessert Topping
Whipped Cream:
  • 2 cups whipping (heavy) cream
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar, OR, ½ cup confectioners’ (powdered) sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
For best results chill the bowl and beaters in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or until well chilled before whipping the cream.
Whipped Cream:
  1. In a medium bowl, using an electric mixer, beat the whipping cream until just until the cream starts forming soft peaks. Add either the granulated sugar or confectioners’ sugar and vanilla, and continue beating just until stiff peaks begin to form. Do not overbeat.
  2. Store covered in the refrigerator until ready to use.
