A few years ago I started making these pumpkin blocks with the intent of making two quilts, one for each of our kids. The blocks stayed stored for a few years, partially forgotten about. This year, 2019, I pulled the blocks out of hiding and actually finished both quilts in time for fall.
The quilt block pattern, called Jack-o’-Lanterns, is from Leisure Arts “Our Best Seasonal Quilts.” The border and binding are my own inspiration.
Here are both quilts layed-out together.
A close-up of a few of the pumpkins.
I chose a different color backing for each quilt.
After wrapping each quilt as a gift for our kids, my talented husband drew some “scary” pictures on the wrapping, which the kids and grand kids all loved.
