I had thought about making a quilt for our son-in-law, Robert, for several months, but I just couldn’t think of the perfect quilt theme for this special guy. Searching for ideas I found an amazing paper-pieced pattern for a white-tailed buck by Linda Hibbert at Silver Linings Originals. Oh yes, I admit I thought about it for quite awhile before ordering the pattern, I had never done this type of paper-piecing before, and this definitely seemed like a challenge that I wasn’t sure I could pull off.
When I received the pattern in the mail, it confirmed my doubts. This was going to be a major challenge!! But I completed it, and here it is.
Now what to do with the rest of the quilt? I went back to Silver Linings Originals for more patterns!!
With the animals completed, I added a log cabin along with lots of trees and stars.
I have to say I was pretty pleased with how the quilt turned out. And I think Robert was surprised and loved it.
